Using Google Chrome OS

We loaded Google Chrome OS that we downloaded form hexxeh Vanilla version available here:

http://chromeos.hexxeh.net/vanilla.php

and we have found it to be very quick. If you want to see a brief 10 minute video on youtube here is the link:

We have found the install bug free and on the second laptop just had to connect to the internet via LAN to enable the install of the wireless hardware. The video Demos we did were with a wireless LAN internet connection. Some of the windows opened instantly. A response you would expect to get from a high end machine. Worth noting that the only issue we had browsing the internet was installing MICROSOFT SILVERLIGHT into chrome. This caused the browser to crash!! Surprise surprise! We have since uninstalled silverlight and suggest it be trashed as a viable browser plugin at this time. Other than that we had no issues. We installed a number of apps available from the Chrome app store and the laptop ran without a hitch. We loaded up some kernels to play avi files and and movie play was crisp. Same goes for MP3 music. We had a movie running in the background as were opening and closing applications.

This OS kills. The greatest feature of the OS is how it intergrates with cloud based apps via google chrome.
Look out for future videos on the operation of the cloud apps.
